The Ceremony of the 4 Elements an Art Installation Experience

The Ceremony of the Four Elements, is an immersive living art installation, with a performance created by Socorro Reyes Ramirez,  a collective ritual, a prayer made of matter, movement, and with the collaboration of other local artists. The first presentation was on June 27 2025, with the attendance of more than 70 people. This event is looking to expand in 2026 with the dream of a tour in different cities.  It is a bilingual experience narrated in English and Spanish.  This ceremony is a symbolic act that invites us to reconnect with Mother Earth in a time when the planet is calling us with urgency. We are living through an ecological crisis. Droughts, fires, floods, species extinction,  reflect the imbalance between humanity and nature. This artistic project arises from the desire to reawaken that connection. Through art, performance,  poetry, dance and collective creation, we seek to recognize and honor the elements that give us life: Earth that holds us, Water that cleanses, Air that inspires, Fire that transforms.

Above all, we pay homage to Earth as the Divine Mother, the origin and container of all elements, the sacred body of all living beings. All the objects and materials you see in this installation were donated, recycled, or repurposed. Each piece was once considered “waste” now transformed into something meaningful every piece represents the 4 elements, in this year this art project is looking to renew and create a new stage with 4 new pieces that will be made by the main artist.  This act of creation is also a political and ecological statement: an invitation to reflect on the unconscious consumerism that damages our planet, and to explore how we can turn waste into beauty, destruction into awareness.

Through reuse, we imagine new ways of living with less harm. This installation is not only a ritual gesture, but also an ethical and aesthetic proposal for reconnection with our planet.

“The 7 Magic Animals” Parade Of Hearts

The Seven Magic Animals

A long time ago, seven magic animals came to the land of Kansas and built a society called KC. The seven magic animals became the city’s guardians.

Little by little, the beautiful city took shape, and animals from all around came to live here in KC.

Since I first came to Kansas City, I fell in love with the place. I designed my heart’s characters in 2018 here in KC, and that is why I wanted to juxtapose them with images of the city. As a story lover, the heart’s purpose is to tell this tale and for the audience to feel like they are part of its plot. The story of the characters and the text in the heart’s base speak to the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. That’s why the 7 magic animals’ names are based on the colors of the rainbow.
